Well, we were just polka band from Milwaukee
On the road trying to do our best
Playin' every joint south of Stevens Point
And we never missed an Oktoberfest

No, we didn't have much talent
Every bar we booked was taking a chance
But when we got up on stage and got ready to play
People came to dance

Jammin' in the festival circuit
People couldn't seem to get enough
They would stand by the road where we'd park to unload
And then everybody'd carry our stuff

Livin' on old time music
Never caring 'bout the rock we were missin'
When we belted out hits, like Polka 76
Everybody'd listen

A couple snuck in though the back
They got in for free, so the drummer and me
Smashed a mirror on their new Cadillac

They played us on radio stations
Then we heard ourselves on Polka Pontoon
The best show in the nation
